PROMINENT VISIT: TSINGHUA UNIVERSITY’S YOUNG SCIENTISTS IN ASTANA

On July 23, the Center for Chinese Studies hosted a delegation of young scientists from Tsinghua University, China, in Astana. This visit was part of a scientific exchange program between China and Kazakhstan, highlighting the growing interest in collaborative research and knowledge sharing, particularly within the Belt and Road Initiative framework. The 10-person delegation was led by Dr. Duan Lei, an esteemed expert in organic semiconductors.

 

The Director of the Centre, Mrs. Gulnar Shaimergenova, welcomed the delegation, providing an introductory tour and detailing the Center’s history, objectives, and mission. She underscored the significance of international scientific cooperation and expressed hopes for further strengthening institutional ties.

 

The Director of the Centre highlighted the Center’s activities, including conferences, seminars, and lectures, aimed at enhancing mutual understanding between Kazakhstan and China. She emphasized the importance of student and young scientist participation in these events for their professional development. The visiting scientists shared positive impressions of Astana and its scientific potential.
