Astana, January 25. House of the Mazhilis. The Speaker of the Mazhilis Mr. Erlan Koshanov has met with Deputy Chairman of the Standing Committee National People’s Congress Hao Mingjin.
The parties discussed the prospects for the development of interparliamentary, economic and cultural and humanitarian cooperation between both countries. Opening the meeting with the high delegation of the All-China People’s Congress of the People’s Republic of China, Erlan Koshanov noted that, despite the difficult situation in the world, Kazakhstan and China remain reliable partners and good neighbors. – Development of cooperation with China is one of the priorities directions of foreign policy Kazakhstan. This year we celebrate 32 years of the establishment of diplomatic relations between our countries. Over the years, our bilateral cooperation has risen to the highest level, and the level of eternal comprehensive strategic partnership. This is, first of all, the result tireless efforts of the heads of our states, the Chairman of Mazhilis has emphasized. Erlan Koshanov told his Chinese colleagues about the ongoing reforms in the country that made it possible to renew all branches of government in in accordance with the formula “A strong President, an influential Parliament and an accountable Government.” The speaker shared his plans on the Chamber and noted that the participation of six factions and single-mandate deputies had a positive impact on the quality of legislative debates. In turn, Hao Mingjin emphasized, that China and Kazakhstan are not only close neighbors, but also reliable partners and true friends. “For me and most, this is the first visit of our delegation to Kazakhstan. And I must say that under the leadership of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev the country is experiencing rapid economic development and high degree of social stability and cohesion. Systematically your endeavors are progressing in all areas. All this has affected us very deep impression,” said the Deputy Chairman of the PS NPC. Hao Mingjin highly appreciated the cooperation within initiative “One Belt – One Road”, emphasizing that the bilateral Trade turnover between Kazakhstan and China at the end of 2023 reached record sizes. Deputies agreed to strengthen work on lines of interparliamentary diplomacy, expansion of cooperation between specialized committees and friendship groups.
