A war, not a military operation called what was happening and it was fighting actions Prime Minister of Israel B. Netanyahu. About 20 thousand residents were forced to leave their homes and take refuge in shelters due to Israeli shelling.
China has been one of the foremost advocates of the Palestinian cause and was the first non-Arab foreign country to extend a formal invitation to the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) and accept the PLO. China recognized the organization as the sole and legitimate representative of the Palestinian people and granted its office in Beijing all the diplomatic privileges granted to foreign embassies, helping to bolster its international authority. It is worth noting that the Chinese government and people have always strongly supported the Palestinian and other Arab peoples in their just struggle to restore their national rights and lost lands, and strongly condemned Israel’s Zionist aggression.
The influence of the Belt and Road Initiative on all these developments cannot be denied. Indeed, during Mahmoud Abbas’s visit to Beijing in 2017, Xi Jinping reaffirmed China’s position: the 1967 borders, an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, and support for a two-state solution. Xi Jinping also reiterated his support for stopping the construction of new settlements in Israeli-occupied territories, as required by UN Resolution 2334, and for the early resumption of peace negotiations, both at his meeting with Abbas in Beijing in 2017 and again in June 2023.
Chinese President Xi Jinping, during a meeting with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in Beijing, put forward a three-point proposal to resolve the Palestinian issue, which has remained unresolved for more than half a century, causing enormous suffering to the Palestinian people. According to him, justice for Palestine must be restored as soon as possible.
First, the main way to resolve the Palestinian issue is to create an independent and fully sovereign State of Palestine within the 1967 borders and with its capital in East Jerusalem.
Second, the needs of the Palestinian economy and people’s livelihoods must be met, and the international community must increase development and humanitarian assistance to Palestine.
Thirdly, the President of the People’s Republic of China indicated that it is important to adhere to the right vector of peace negotiations. The historical status quo of the Holy Sites in Jerusalem should be respected, extreme and provocative statements and actions should be avoided, and a larger, more authoritative and influential international peace conference should be promoted in order to create the conditions for restarting peace negotiations and make a tangible contribution to promoting the peaceful coexistence of Palestine and Israel.
Xi Jinping stressed that “it is necessary to respect the historical “status quo” regarding the Holy Land, and to “refuse radical and provocative words and deeds”.
In addition, according to the Head of the People’s Republic of China, it is necessary to make real efforts to create conditions for the resumption of peace negotiations and help Palestine and Israel coexist peacefully.
Kazakhstan stands for the establishment of the principle of justice in international relations, for their democratization, taking into account the legal and sovereign rights of all members of the international community. In the current situation, it is necessary to strengthen the role of the UN General Assembly.
President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev opposes the use of terrorist methods to solve pressing international problems. “You cannot resort to violence against civilians, or resort to terrorist acts to implement tasks that have not been resolved for decades. This cannot be justified in any way,” the Head of State noted.
The Head of Kazakhstan believes that the UN Security Council should be replenished with states that represent all regions of the world, including at the expense of the global South. Kazakhstan calls on Israel to refrain from the disproportionate use of force, leading to numerous civilian casualties in the Gaza Strip and the destruction of civilian infrastructure. It is extremely important to comply with international law, as well as follow the relevant UN Security Council resolutions providing for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
Kazakhstan calls on the parties to ensure an early cessation of hostilities and intensify efforts to achieve peace, stability and security for all residents of the region based on the “two states for two peoples” formula.
Last February, China published the Global Security Initiative Concept Paper, which listed 20 cooperation priorities, including: firm support for the UN’s central role in security governance; promoting consultation and healthy interaction among major powers; actively promoting the peaceful resolution of sensitive issues through dialogue; effective solution of traditional and non-traditional security problems; and continued strengthening of the global safety management system and capacity development. For China, resolving the situation in the Middle East is very important. And there is every reason for this.
Last week, on October 21, an international summit on the situation in the Gaza Strip was held in Cairo, organized at the initiative of the President of Egypt , which brought together representatives from more than 30 states, as well as a number of international and regional organizations. The official purpose of the meeting was to develop measures to help the Palestinians and a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.
They also spoke about the need to develop a “road map” that would allow the establishment of a ceasefire and lead to the “creation of a Palestinian state.”
In addition to Arab leaders, the summit was attended by representatives of the UN, the European Council, Great Britain, Greece, Turkey, Cyprus, Italy and Russia. However, the summit ended inconclusively due to obvious fundamental differences between its participants in their views on the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
Both sides, both Israel and Hamas, are committed to resolving the conflict by force, and their positions are initially completely opposite . However, the countries of the region, as well as the world community as a whole, understand the need to prevent a protracted war. In the future, any prolongation of the conflict for a long period (even without its escalation and expansion) could lead to serious economic consequences for the global economy. It will be especially difficult for small and medium-sized businesses and the service sector, which play a critical role in the economies of both developed and developing countries .
China will take over the rotating presidency of the UN Security Council for November. Will China, during its chairmanship, be able to propose any resolution on the situation in Israel and Gaza – according to official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China Wang Wenbin On the issue of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, China always stands on the side of fairness and justice, condemning and opposing any steps that harm civilians and violate international law. China is committed to working with the international community to help end the fighting, ensure the safety of civilians, promote humanitarian assistance, prevent an even worse humanitarian disaster, and strive for a comprehensive, just and lasting settlement of the Palestinian issue. China will strive tirelessly for this in the UN Security Council.
History tells us that the use of force never brings lasting peace, and violence for the sake of violence only leads to a vicious circle of revenge. Only by achieving common security can sustainable security be ensured. Only compliance with international law can ensure international fairness and justice. Only through a political settlement can the legitimate security concerns of all parties be fundamentally resolved. The fundamental way to resolve the Palestinian problem lies through the implementation of the “Two States for Two Peoples” plan and the peaceful coexistence of Palestine and Israel.
PRC President Xi Jinping put forward the Global Security Initiative, which proposed a commitment to the concept of common, comprehensive, cooperative and sustainable security, and advocated a transition to a new type of security based on dialogue rather than confrontation, partnership rather than blocs, mutual benefit rather than zero-sum. The initiative embodies the main principles of the concept of a community with a common destiny for humanity.
The implementation of this initiative is aimed at eliminating the root problems of international conflicts, promoting lasting peace and global development, guaranteeing the security of each country, promoting cooperation, and ensuring security through political dialogue and peaceful negotiations. The security of one country should not come at the expense of the security of others.
It is necessary to remain committed to the peaceful resolution of differences and disputes between countries through dialogue and consultation. As pointed out, war and sanctions are not fundamental solutions to disputes. The international community must support all efforts to promote the peaceful resolution of crises and encourage conflicting parties to build confidence, resolve disputes and enhance security through dialogue.
China is trying to encourage Israel and Palestine to end the conflict through the joint development model of the Belt and Road Initiative.
Through the Belt and Road Initiative, China introduced the world to a new form of multilateral cooperation. This The promising initiative aims to deepen economic integration by improving trade, infrastructure, investment and people-to-people connections not only across borders but also on a transcontinental scale.
Within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative, more than 3,000 cooperation projects have been signed over the course of 10 years. This made it possible to create more than 4,00,000 jobs and help lift nearly 40 million people out of poverty. Thus, it becomes obvious that humanity needs open and mutually beneficial cooperation. China is willing to continue sharing development opportunities with Europe and other countries around the world to promote shared prosperity. The resolution of the Middle East conflict must be sought in dialogue and partnership and mutually beneficial approach.
