The Director of the China Studies Centre participated in the 11th China – Central Asia Cooperation Forum.
At the invitation of the People’s Government of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region and the SCO China Committee for Friendship, Good-Neighborliness, and Cooperation, the Director of the China Studies Centre, Mrs. G. Shaimergenova, participated in the 11th China – Central Asia Cooperation Forum, held from October 25-28, 2024, in Yinchuan, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region.
The China – Central Asia Cooperation Forum was conducted on the theme “Promoting Green Development to Build a Beautiful Home,” aimed at comprehensively deepening friendly exchanges and practical cooperation between the countries of Central Asia and China.
The forum included four parallel sub-forums: – Trade and Investment Forum; – Forum on Modern Agriculture and Scientific-Technological Innovation; – Forum on Sister Cities Cooperation and Humanitarian Exchanges; and – Regional Cooperation Forum.
The forum was attended by Shen Yueyue, Vice Chairperson of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, Li Yifei, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, as well as other high-ranking officials from Central Asia and China.
The forum also brought together ambassadors and diplomats of Central Asian countries accredited in China, representatives of the media, leading think tanks of Central Asian countries and China, as well as representatives of international organizations, associations, universities, and enterprises.
During the event, the delegation from Almaty Region signed a Memorandum on Establishing Friendly Relations with the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region.
The China – Central Asia Cooperation Forum was established in 2012 at China’s initiative as a platform for multilateral interaction between China and the countries of Central Asia.
