BELT AND ROAD FORUM FOR INTERNATIONAL THINK TANK COOPERATION & THE 2ND SILK ROAD INTERNATIONAL COMMUNICATION FORUM

On October 14-15, 2024, the Belt and Road Forum for International Think Tank Cooperation and the 2nd Silk Road International Communication Forum were held in Xi’an, Shaanxi Province.

 

Director of the China Studies Center G. Shaimergenova attended the event and delivered a speech on “Innovation in International Communication, Mainstream Media Duties: How Media Can Effectively Tell the Story of the Silk Road in People-to-People Communication.” These events were dedicated to the theme of “Quality Joint Construction of the Belt and Road Initiative to Promote the Modernization of Countries”, attracting more than 300 diplomats, think tank experts and journalists from 50 countries to comprehensively exchange views and discuss current issues of global cooperation.

 

The main theme of the forum was the joint construction of the “Belt and Road” proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping. This project reflects a profound vision for the long-term development of mankind and emphasizes the importance of cooperation and joint progress among countries. The modernization under the “Belt and Road” Initiative aims to address global challenges and improve the international governance system.

 

Scientific and analytical data confirm that participation in this initiative contributes to the development of infrastructure, strengthening economic ties and raising the standard of living in the participating countries.

 

The event was organized by the Xinhua News Agency, the CPC Shaanxi Provincial Committee and the People’s Government of Shaanxi Province, emphasizing the importance of media cooperation in achieving the goals of the global initiative. As part of the opening ceremony, a report entitled “Eight Major Steps” Heralds Promising New Decade of Jointly Building the “Belt and Road” Initiative” was presented, demonstrating the strategic priorities for the coming years.

 

The report was presented in Chinese and English, highlighting its significance for the international community.

 

The forum provided participants with the opportunity not only to discuss important issues, but also to visit cultural sites in Shaanxi Province, symbolizing the historical significance of the region as the starting point of the ancient Silk Road.
