THE CHINA STUDIES CENTER REAFFIRMS ITS ROLE AS A KEY PLATFORM FOR INTERNATIONAL DIALOGUE, COOPERATION, AND EXCHANGE OF BEST PRACTICES

On October 24, 2024, a roundtable discussion titled “International Cooperation on Disability Issues: Sharing Experiences and Best Practices” was held, organized by the China Studies Center in collaboration with the Talgar District NGO Coalition.

The roundtable marked a significant step in strengthening partnerships between Kazakhstan and China in the field of social support and inclusion for people with disabilities.

The primary objective of the event was to address issues related to the support and rehabilitation of individuals with disabilities, fostering the exchange of ideas and best practices in social integration.

Representatives from the Shanghai Disabled Persons’ Federation (SDPF) and local Kazakhstani NGOs supporting people with disabilities participated in the discussion. Key topics included employment opportunities, rehabilitation strategies, and the management of institutions providing services for individuals with disabilities.

The conference brought together members of the Shanghai Disabled Persons’ Federation and the Talgar District NGO Coalition, including organizations such as “Samga-H,” “Keusar Bulak,” “Kadam,” the “Sustainable Development of Local Communities” Foundation, the “Vector” International Youth Union, as well as representatives from the “Zhanuya” Family Support Center and the Talgar District Youth Resource Center.

The event highlighted the importance of international cooperation in the areas of inclusion and social support and underscored the value of exchanging expertise between countries to improve the quality of life for people with disabilities.

Such initiatives contribute to the creation of inclusive societies that uphold the rights and opportunities of every individual, significantly enhancing the lives of people with disabilities both in Kazakhstan and beyond.
