Beijing, March 18 / Xinhua/ — An Fengshan, an official representative of the Office of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China for Taiwan Affairs, said on Sunday that the signing of the law on travel to Taiwan by the American side was a “seriously erroneous signal” for Taiwanese separatists.
“I would like to warn Taiwan once again with all seriousness: stuffing yourself with a price based on foreigners, you will inevitably, as they say, burn on the fire that you lit yourself,” An Fengshan said.
He noted that the American law ” dealt a serious blow to the complex and serious situation observed in inter-bank relations, peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait area.”
US President Donald Trump reportedly signed the “Taiwan Travel Act” on Friday, which encourages visits at all levels between the United States and the island.
“We are strongly against this,” An Fengshan stressed, pointing out that this law seriously violates the one-China principle and the provisions of the three joint Chinese-American communiques.
