China Studies Centre is pleased to present the opening ceremony of the Kazakhstan’s Centre for Chinese Modernization studies.
The relationship between Kazakhstan and China in 2023 is noted as strategic, based on long-term development plans. There are many important events and signed documents between both countries at official levels. Promotion of projects in various fields, increased trade and successful cooperation in the field of infrastructure highlight the practical relevance and mutual benefits of this strategic partnership. The visits of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to the PRC in 2023 are also symbolic in nature, emphasizing the importance of this eternal, comprehensive strategic cooperation.
“We have built effective interstate cooperation in all areas. A powerful impetus for the comprehensive deepening of ties was given by the results of your state visit to Kazakhstan in September last year, during which a new “golden 30th anniversary” of cooperation between our countries was launched. Trade between our states is developing successfully. The growth is significant. The implementation of 52 joint projects with an investment volume of $21 billion continues. 2024 has been declared the Year of Kazakhstani tourism in China, which will open up great prospects for this area. Favorable conditions are being created for mutual cultural and humanitarian exchange. I believe that Kazakhstan and China have enormous potential to take interstate relations to a qualitatively new level,” said Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, during his official visit to China.
Support and respect for each other’s interests are the main principles in the relationship between both countries.
“Chinese modernization serves as an important source of inspiration and guidance for the development of countries around the world. Modernization is not just a patent of economic and social development of Western countries, but a common cause for all humanity. China’s modernization will adhere to the government’s basic policy of opening up, always maintain world peace and promote common development, promote the construction of an open world economy and improve the well-being of people around the world, will undoubtedly provide more opportunities for Kazakhstan and other Central Asian countries to benefit from China’s achievements in areas of development and dividends from reforms” – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Kazakhstan Zhang Xiao in his speech to the Kazakh media on the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.
It is expected that the ceremony, organized jointly with the Broadcasting Center for Europe and Asia (People’s Huabao Publishing House), will bring together senior officials of the relevant ministries of the Republic of Kazakhstan, representatives of the Propaganda Department of the CPC Central Committee, the PRC Embassy in the Republic of Kazakhstan, international news agencies, broadcasting organizations, as well as international and national experts for an active exchange of views and discussion of real prospects for cooperation.
